Equipment in the form of armor is equippable onto the player character to boost defense against attacking Monsters that live within the Mines.
When creating armor while Blacksmithing, equipment (alongside Tools) can additionally be given an Infusion that grants a special bonus ability if certain skill perks have been unlocked by The Player.
When worn for the first time, certain pieces unlock a cosmetic form of the item, e.g. Helmets unlock Helmet Accessories, while body armor unlocks Chestpieces. Rings and wristbands do not currently unlock any cosmetics.
