Museum
The Museum is located to the west of Mistria in The Narrows. It is run by Errol, the Museum's Curator and member of Mistria's Historical Society. The Player can donate certain items they come across over the course of the game here for varying rewards, such as Tesserae and Renown.
Museum Wings
The Museum is divided into 4 Wings or categories: Archaeology, Flora, Insects, and Fish. Each Wing has a number of 'Sets', with each Set denoting a specific subcategory of items belonging to its larger category (ex. Summer Ocean Fish Set for the Fish Wing, or Spring Flowers Set for the Flora Wing). Each Set requires the 5 specific items listed to be donated before being completed. Currently, the only exception to this rule is the Legendary Fish Set in the Fish Wing, which requires 4 items.
Across the 4 Wings, there are 58 Sets, meaning there are 289 items to be donated in total.
Rewards
The Player will gain Rewards for each set they complete. Rewards are determined by the overall number of sets completed by Wing, not by the specific set being completed.
Quotes
As the Player donates items, other villagers may comment on them. [1]
"That Dragon Claw at the museum is interesting... it's not so different from Henrietta's claw! Are dragons and chickens related?
Probably best not to ask a dragon that."
"That Stone Horse in the museum's collection is so cute.
I was trying to figure the breed, but it's awfully hard to concentrate when I'm looking at that round little face. Can't get enough of it!"
"Errol tells me that Ancient Crystal Goblet at the museum is a very rare find, and probably was used in rituals.
Between you and me though... I'd love to drink a beer out of it."
"Holt and I saw that Tin Lunchbox at the museum and started making bets on who would eat whatever was inside.
We were so disappointed when Errol said it was empty!"
"I was over at the museum and saw that Mine Cricket! I bet it plays a pretty little tune. The acoustics down there must be killer."
"There was a Tunnel Millipede at the museum! Luc said they're very good at burrowing, so I floated a plan for an elite tunneling team made up of trained centipedes... Errol didn't go for it."
"There's a Rock Guppy at the museum, was that your doing? I'm impressed! Most folks can't tell the difference between a Rock Guppy and the regular kind."
"Reina says the Sea Grapes at the museum probably have a more salty taste, like the ocean. I like my grapes super sweet, thank you very much."
Trivia
- Though the Player will not receive the letter from Errol asking them to go to the Museum and unlock the Museum tutorial until Year 1, Spring 2, the player can technically visit and make donations immediately starting on Year 1, Spring 1.
