The Mines
Possible Spoiler Warning
This page contains content and information from Version v0.13.3. This could be considered spoilers. View at your own discretion.
The Mines are located at the northernmost part of The Narrows, and can be unlocked upon reaching Town Rank Stone. Located within are many resources wholly unique to its biomes; additionally, Monsters are exclusively found inhabiting the area (as of early access).
To traverse The Mines, The Player must find ladders leading to the next floor by breaking rocks or killing monsters. Exploration also requires caution, though, since it is possible to faint if The Player's health reaches 0.
The Mines currently consist of four different biomes; The Upper Mines, The Tide Caverns, The Deep Earth, and The Lava Caves. Each biome contains different Ores, gems, Artifacts, Forageables, Monsters, Fish, Bugs, and harvestable resources ( Wood,
Coral,
Crystal, etc.).
Skill Perks for Mining and
Combat can be acquired via the Dragon Statue in the Mines Entrance.
Basic Mechanics
- The initial entrance area is the called the Ground Floor (G).
- There is a ladder down to Floor 1.
- There is an elevator that connects every fifth floor (5, 10, 15, 20 etc.) to the Ground Floor once those floors have been reached for the first time.
- Each elevator floor has a set layout, but individual rock types and monsters can vary.
- Going to the Ground Floor and then back into The Mines resets the floors.
- The Player can jump over gaps and swim in water to access other areas on each floor.
- Breakable objects (eg. the crates and barrels in The Upper Mines) can be destroyed with
Weapons, and sometimes drop their corresponding loot.
Ladders
- Carry The Player one floor deeper into the mines.
- When climbed up, bring The Player back to the Ground Floor rather than the previous floor.
- Can appear after breaking a rock or killing a monster.
Stone Refinery
The Stone Refinery can be unlocked by completing the
Story Quest "Stone Refinery". It gives The Player the ability to craft
Essence Stones along with other stone-related crafting materials. It is currently the main way to obtain
Essence Stones, which can be used to power magical tools (such as the
Animal Sprite Statue or
Water Sprite Statue).
Unlocking the Stone Refinery also unlocks the Teleportation Chalice, which gives The Player the ability to teleport from The Mines to The Player's Farm at the cost of 10 per use.
Unique Floor Types
There are several different types of floors, the particular type of the current floor being indicated by the icon next to the floor number. These include, but may not be limited to:
Normal Floor
This room contains nothing special.
Treasure Room
This type of room is unlocked through the Treasure Hunter Skill. It spawns a random chest, ladder, and several nodes of biome-respective ore. Once a treasure room has been established on a floor, it will remain there for the rest of the day, which makes it possible for The Player to farm the rewards by repeatedly returning to the surface and re-entering The Mines. It is possible to get multiple treasure rooms in a row.
Dragon Priestess Floor
On rare occasions, a Dragon Priestess statue can be found in the Mines. By placing an offering, a blessing is granted to The Player. The blessing can be 25,
20, or
10.
Known offerings:
Stone (10) (Any Biome)
Iron Ore (5) (The Tide Caverns)
Coral (3) (The Tide Caverns)
Fountain Floor
On rare occasions, a fountain of drinkable water can be found. Drinking from the fountain will give The Player a one-time replenishment of 20 and
20. There will be no effect if both bars are already full.
Locked Ladder Floor
These types of floors require The Player to switch a lever to proceed to the next floor.
Ritual Chambers
Ritual Chambers are a floor type available after unlocking the Lost to History Skill. This floor contains a single large urn in the center of the room that can be looted for Cosmetics (The Dragon Cleric Outfit Set) and Ritual Artifacts.
Unknown Floor Types
These floor types have icons in the games files, but do not appear to be available in game. They may be unimplemented or cut content.
Unconfirmed Content
This section contains information that was obtained via datamining, and/or is based on theories yet to be confirmed in game. This section may be considered non-canonical. View at your own discretion.
Treasure Chests
From Floor 2 onward, Treasure Chests have a chance of spawning. They come in four rarities: wooden, copper, silver, and gold. Each chest contains some Tesserae and biome-respective ore. Their spawn rate can be improved with the Treasured Skill.
- Unlocking the
Well Armed Skill will allow biome-specific armor and weapons to drop from chests.
- Unlocking the
Reclaimer Skill will allow biome-specific furniture to drop from chests.
- Unlocking the
Taste Maker Skill will allow biome-specific recipes to drop from chests.
- Unlocking the
Dungeon Delicacies Skill will allow for biome-specific cooked dishes to drop from treasure chests.
Monsters
All Biomes
All Biomes contain plain Rocks that drop Stone,
Peat,
Sod, and
Clay.
With the Ore-Riginal Skill, these rocks will also occasionally drop
Copper Ore,
Iron Ore,
Silver Ore, and
Gold Ore in The Upper Mines, The Tide Caverns, The Deep Earth, and The Lava Caves respectively.
