Skills refer to how well your character performs at a certain activity. 9 different types of activities are tracked: Combat, Farming, Fishing, Mining, Archaeology, Cooking, Ranching, Woodcrafting, and Blacksmithing. The more you participate in each activity, the higher your Skill Level in that activity will become. Increasing your skill level at an activity will unlock the ability to craft and cook higher level recipes, as well as increase the number of Skill Perks available to the Player.
Each skill currently has 30 levels. Skill levels can be viewed through the Pause menu under Skills.
Skill Perks
On Year 1, Spring 3, Caldarus will grant the Player the ability to sense and collectEssence. Collected Essence can then be offered up to Caldarus' shrine, and in exchange, Caldarus will grant the Player Skill Perks. Skill Perks are extra bonus abilities or buffs for your skills. As your level in a Skill increases, you can unlock higher Tiers of Skill Perks. There are currently 3 Tiers of Skill Perks for each of the 9 activities.
Speak with Caldarus' statue at your farm to manage Farming, Fishing, Archaeology, Cooking, Ranching, Woodcrafting, and Blacksmithing Skill Perks.
