Unidentified Artifact

For a complete list of Artifacts, see the Archaeology Wing.

Artifacts are a type of item found throughout Mistria. They can be gifted, sold, or donated to the Museum. Each time an Artifact is found, the Archaeology Skill increases.

Artifacts must first be identified before they can gifted, sold, or donated. To identify an unidentified Artifact, use the Interact action (E key or right click+hold on PC).

Acquisition

Artifacts can be obtained in various ways:

Digging

Dig spots

The primary way to obtain Artifacts is by using a pickaxe or shovel on dig spots located throughout Mistria. Dig spots can be found in multiple terrain types, such as grass, sand, and dirt.

A certain number of dig spots are guaranteed to spawn in sections of the Map such as The Western Ruins, while other areas seem to spawn dig spots at random.

Increasing the Player's archaeology skill can unlock Skill Perks that increase the number of dig spots that spawn in certain locations:

Similarly, the Stoneturner.png Stoneturner Skill means artifacts will sometimes drop from breaking rocks in the Mines. In addition, unlocking the Well placed.png Well Placed Skill will now sometimes yield Oopart Artifacts.

Fishing
